Antique Indian Braided Ring

This rare late 19th-century ring from India is a beautiful example of high-karat craftsmanship, featuring a braided design that has softened over the years from wear. Fashioned in rich, unmarked 22K gold, it has a solid, satisfying feel, weighing 6.86 grams.

The 6mm wide band, crafted with intricate texture, displays a timeless, weaved design that speaks to the artistry of Indian jewellery from this period. The ring is a UK size N½ (US size 7) and retains a unique historical character, combining durability with refined cultural heritage.

インドのアンティークジュエリーは、多くが20カラット以上の高純度の金で作られ、純金の箔に石を押し込んで留めるクンダン技法が用いられています。平らなテーブルカットの「ポルキ」ダイヤモンドはフォイルの上に留められて輝きを放ち、裏面や側面は赤、緑、白の鮮やかなエナメルで彩られました。宝石は美しさと同じくらいその意味によって選ばれました。九つの天体の力を表す九種の石を組み合わせたナヴァラトナはその好例です。
