A refined pair of Victorian Etruscan Revival gold drop earrings dating to circa 1860. Crafted in 15K gold, the earrings feature elegant torpedo-shaped pendants suspended beneath triangular surmounts with applied oval beadwork, reflecting the archaeological influences that dominated mid-19th century jewellery design.The Etruscan Revival movement emerged following major archaeological discoveries in Italy during the 19th century, inspiring jewellers to recreate the granulated textures and geometric forms of ancient goldwork. These earrings capture that aesthetic in a restrained and highly wearable form, balancing clean architectural lines with softly polished gold surfaces.The drops are hollow constructed, allowing for a nice scale while remaining light and comfortable when worn. Their elongated silhouette creates subtle movement and catches the light beautifully without appearing overly ornate.The earrings measure approximately 3cm in length including the fish hooks, and 6mm wide at their widest point. Combined weight: 2.52 grams. Crafted in 15K gold.Condition is very good overall, with light wear consistent with age.
