Vintage Erotic Gold Ring

An unusual 1970s erotic ring, crafted in buttery 9K yellow gold. Made in London in 1974, it features the maker’s mark ‘DC,’ showcasing the period’s fascination with bold and expressive jewellery. During this time, designers such as Carrera y Carrera embraced erotic themes, which reflected the liberated ethos of the 1970s and the growing appeal of sensual art in jewellery.

The ring features two nude lovers, sculpturally intertwined in a passionate embrace, forming a figural design. The design gradually transitions into a plain band at the back, to ensure comfortable wear.

Weighing 11.42 grams, it feels substantial and well-balanced on the hand.

The ring is a UK size M½ (US size 6.5). It measures 12mm north to south at its widest point, and 4mm across at the back. This captivating piece is both a collector’s item and a statement of art, and represents a moment in time when jewellery pushed creative boundaries.
