A truly stunning antique Victorian 18K gold ring dating to around 1890. This navette-shaped cluster is constructed with 37 silver set rose cut diamonds surrounding an emerald cut peridot gemstone. The gorgeous pale green peridot is foil-backed and bezel set in a closed gold mount. The diamonds are bright with lots of fire and sparkle. They are in open-back settings (uncommon for the period) which explains why they all still they glisten so marvellously as the light is able to pass through the back and the settings can be cleaned easily. The underside of the bezel features gorgeous floral openwork gallery, which adjoins to scrolled bifurcating shoulders.
UK size L, US size 5.75, 5.58g 18K gold
Antique Dutch marks for 18K gold are stamped on the inner band. The navette bezel measures 30mm north to south and 11mm east to west. Peridot weighs approximately 0.87cts. The ring remains in fantastic condition despite its impressive age!
