A fantastic antique Victorian English sterling silver Albert chain dating to late 19th century. This unusual chain would have been used as a pocket watch chain and hung from a gentleman’s waist coat.
What makes this chain so interesting is the silver propelling pencil attached to one end. It is of hexagonal trumpeted form with decorative engravings and features a brown and white banded agate gemstone at the terminal. The pencil lead is missing but can be easily bought online. This would be perfect pocket watch chain for writers, poets or anyone who likes to jot things down on the go! The fancy silver chain consists of nut shaped links and is attached to a swivelling dog clip clasp at one end.
The chain is crafted in sterling silver, measures 34cm in length and weighs 28.4 grams in total. The silver propelling pencil measures 4.5cm x 1cm.
