    • An unusual large antique mabé pearl solitaire ring dating to the first half of the 20th century, circa 1920. In the centre of the 18K gold ring is a large mabé pearl held in position with six naturalistic claws almost like a star fish gripping onto the pearl. The band is of a D-shaped cross section and tapers down towards the back.

      UK size Q 1/2, US size 8.5

The ring weighs a nice 8.7 grams and the pearl measures 12mm x 12mm x 6mm on its longest axes. The pearl protrudes 12mm from the base of the finger and the band has a width of 3mm. The ring is in great overall condition, although the setting could be slightly tightened (easy fix for a jeweller).

The inner band carries a set of hallmarks (possibly Scandinavian) for 18K gold.
