19th Century Swedish Pendant

This exquisite mid-19th-century pendant, likely crafted in Sweden around 1840, exemplifies the period's intricate artistry in high-karat gold jewellery. Acquired in Malmö, the pendant showcases a hollow repoussé-work body adorned with delicate engraving throughout.

The pendant's design includes a lustrous main pearl, measuring 5mm in diameter, complemented by two free-moving bell-shaped drops at the bottom. These drops add a dynamic touch to the piece, allowing for graceful movement with wear.

Unmarked but testing as 21K gold, the pendant features a rich, buttery hue characteristic of high-karat gold from this era. It measures 5.5cm by 1.9cm and has a lightweight feel at 3.69 grams, making it a delightful and wearable example of 19th-century jewellery.
