French Art Nouveau Ivy Necklace

An exquisite Art Nouveau necklace, crafted around 1900 in Paris. Made entirely of solid 18K gold and set with natural pearls, it embodies the flowing, organic lines that define the Art Nouveau movement. The design centres on three ivy leaf-shaped pendants, intricately sculpted to mirror the lifelike textures of ivy leaves. In Victorian symbolism, ivy represented fidelity and everlasting love, making this piece a token of enduring affection.

The necklace bears the French eagle’s head hallmark, indicating its Parisian origins and assuring its 18K gold purity. Measuring 41cm (16") in length, it sits elegantly at the collarbone as a choker, with the central ivy panel spanning 3cm x 2cm. A classic spring bolt clasp completes the necklace, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit.

In excellent condition, this necklace weighs 7.3 grams of 18K yellow gold. A quintessential example of Art Nouveau jewellery, it’s a piece that connects both artistry and symbolism.
