A finely made early 19th-century Italian gold fob pendant, dating to around 1820 and crafted in rich 18K gold. The pendant has a slender, elegant profile, centred by a spherical element framed with delicate ropework and repoussé decoration, techniques typical of the goldsmithing of this period.Remarkably, the base of the fob remains completely unengraved, an unusual survival given its age and original function, suggesting either careful preservation or that it was never personalised. The surface retains pleasing softness from age.The piece weighs 5.51 grams and measures approximately 4 x 1.5cm. It appears to be unmarked or with faded gold hallmarks,, but tests as solid 18K.
