A cool, vintage pale green carved jade ring. The stone is carved to depict a scaled dragon all the way around, the interior set with a 14K gold band for comfortable wear. The band has three cutwork mandarin symbols including fú (happiness), shòu (life and longevity) and ài (love). This pale green jade hue is one of the most desirable varieties of the stone. Jade has been worn in Chinese culture for thousands of years to represent rank and symbolise life and longevity. It was worn by emperors and royalty after death and placed with them in the tomb.
The ring carries full British hallmarks for Birmingham, 2001.
