A charming late-19th to early-20th century serpent ring, made in Germany around 1900 and crafted in rosy 8K gold. Formed as a sinuous, looping snake, the creature’s head is set with a small round diamond of approximately 2 mm, giving the impression - delightfully and quite literally - of a sparkling “brain,” a whimsical touch sometimes encountered in serpent jewels of the period.The ring carries the German 333 hallmark for 8K gold together with a maker’s monogram struck inside the band, confirming its origin. Light and comfortable on the hand at 1.97 g, it sits as a slender coil that wraps twice before resolving into the stylised head. It is sized at UK P½ / US 7.75 and remains in good antique condition.Serpent rings have held symbolic meaning for millennia - eternal love, protection, wisdom - and in the late 19th century saw a great revival across Europe.
