An exquisite antique emerald and diamond ring, dating to the 19th century. At its centre is a 0.3ct pear-shaped emerald, prong-set to highlight its lush green hue and vibrant saturation. Surrounding the emerald is a halo of rose-cut diamonds, set in closed-back and foiled rubover settings—a design choice typical of the Georgian and Victorian periods. Rose-cut diamonds, with their triangular facets, were highly prized during this era for their ability to glisten spectacularly in candlelight.
The heart-shaped bezel, formed by the emerald and diamond cluster, is attached to openwork shoulders with scrolling detail, leading to a smooth D-shaped band.
