    • A charming Georgian gold intaglio ring dating to the early 19th century, circa 1820. The ring features a carved oval carnelian stone set in a smooth signet mount crafted in 10K gold.

The carnelian is finely engraved with the side profile of Diana, the Roman goddess of wild animals and the hunt (identifies with the Greek goddess Artemis). She is depicted wearing a crescent moon crown in neoclassical style.

The intaglio is set in a ribbed gold rubover setting, with smooth trumpeting shoulders leading to a tapered shank, typical of the period. The carved carnelian stone is in great condition considering it is around 200 years old.

UK size K, US size 5.25

The ring weighs 6.6 grams in total, intaglio measures 21mm x 17mm
