A refined and elegant French ring dating to the late 19th century, circa 1880. The elongated navette-shaped head is centred with a step-cut emerald of vivid, bright green colour, surrounded by a dense field of old-cut diamonds which taper elegantly towards the pointed terminals, creating a strong sense of movement and excellent finger coverage.The ring is crafted in 18K gold, topped with silver to the diamond settings, a traditional French technique employed throughout the 19th century to enhance the visual brightness of diamonds under candlelight. All gemstones are set in open-backed settings, allowing light to pass freely through the stones and enabling both easy cleaning and comfortable daily wear.The emerald measures approximately 5 × 4 × 2.5 mm, with an estimated weight of around 0.4cts. Emerald-centred navette cluster rings are distinctly uncommon; examples of this type are far more frequently encountered with rubies or sapphires at their centre, making the use of an emerald here particularly notable and visually striking.
