    • A particularly fine Georgian specimen hardstone bracelet, made in England during the Regency period, circa 1820.

Crafted in 18K gold, the bracelet is composed of twelve hexagonal hardstone panels, each chosen for its individual colour, pattern and mineral character. The stones include richly banded and figured agates alongside bloodstone, carnelian, lapis lazuli and other varieties of jasper and chalcedony, creating a deliberately varied geological collection around the wrist.

Such specimen jewellery reflects the early 19th-century fascination with mineralogy, antiquities and natural history. Comparable Georgian bracelets from the same period survive with carefully selected agates and bloodstone chosen specifically to display their contrasting colours and markings.

The elongated hexagonal cabochon cut stones are linked with fine gold chainwork and finished with small granulated details at each point. Despite being over 200 years old, the bracelet survives in excellent condition and remains remarkably wearable.

The clasp bears a later French owl import mark, showing that the bracelet entered France at some point in its history.

      Details: England, c.1820 · Regency period · 18K gold · 12 hardstone panels · 23.26g · 17.5cm long · French owl import mark · Excellent antique condition
