    • A rare and exquisitely preserved Victorian locket necklace, crafted in 21K gold and housed in its original fitted leather case.

Dating to around 1880, this piece was made by John Hall & Co of Manchester, a firm known for its high-quality goldsmithing in the late 19th century. The design consists of five oval-shaped gold lockets suspended from a finely articulated chain. Each locket is mounted with a central garnet of deep purplish-red hue, framed with applied gold ropework detailing. The reverse of each locket reveals an oval glass compartment—perfectly suited for photographs or keepsakes such as locks of hair.

The necklace is finished with a traditional barrel clasp, a typical closure found in fine late Victorian jewellery. The clasp functions securely, and the necklace has been tested as solid 21K gold throughout.

This piece retains a lovely antique patina, enhancing the rich buttery yellow glow of the gold, and all lockets remain in excellent condition with their original glass fittings intact. The necklace has a satisfying weight and drapes beautifully at the collar.
