    • A substantial contemporary agate swivel fob pendant, made in Sheffield in the year 2000 by David Scott Walker. Although modern in date, the piece is firmly inspired by Georgian and Victorian swivel fobs, which were traditionally worn from a gentleman’s watch chain and often set with hardstones.

This example is crafted in warm 9K rose gold and set with two oval agate panels, each chosen for its striking natural pattern. One side has a cool blue and white banding that resembles a seascape or shoreline seen from above; the other has warmer earthy layers, closer to a landscape, tree rings, or exposed strata. The contrast gives the pendant a pleasing “land and sea” quality, with the swivel mechanism allowing either side to be worn facing outward.

The gold frame is designed in an antique revival style, with an arched openwork surmount and a rotating oval fob beneath. The piece has a satisfying weight in the hand at 17 grams, giving it more presence than many fob pendants. It is fully hallmarked for 9K gold, Sheffield, 2000, with the maker’s mark for David Scott Walker and the special Millennium hallmark.

The pendant measures approximately 3.5 × 4.5cm, with each agate measuring approximately 3 × 2cm. The swivel mechanism works well, and the pendant is in very good condition, with only light surface wear to the gold and agates. Please note the gold chain is not included.

A beautifully made 9K rose gold agate swivel fob pendant, combining traditional Georgian and Victorian fob design with carefully chosen natural agates of unusual character.
