    • This remarkable vintage necklace, crafted in the Netherlands circa 1900, features a total of 69 rose-cut diamonds, all set in silver foil-backed mounts.

At the heart of the design is a superb diamond drop element, its central rose-cut diamond weighing approximately 1 carat and measuring 6mm in diameter. The remaining stones, meticulously arranged in interlinked floral motifs, shimmer with captivating brilliance thanks to their foil-backed settings—a technique designed to maximise light reflection in candlelit evening gatherings.

Though evocative of the Georgian era with its use of rose-cut diamonds and silver-backed settings, this piece is distinctly Dutch, reflecting a continuation of traditional jewellery techniques well into the early 20th century.

While the outer surface of the necklace appears to be silver—boasting a beautifully aged patina—it is actually constructed in solid 14K yellow gold (with a layer of silver applied on the front), a hallmark of Dutch craftsmanship of the period.

The necklace weighs a substantial 19.78 grams, reflecting both its craftsmanship and its statement-worthy presence. Measuring 41cm (16 inches) in length, it sits gracefully on the collarbone, with sectioned components designed to move and catch the light with every turn.

Condition: Very good, with all stones securely set and the box clasp functioning perfectly.

A true statement piece, combining historic craftsmanship with timeless elegance—a masterpiece of Dutch jewellery from the turn of the century.
