    • An exquisite early 18th century girandole pendant, likely Spanish or Portuguese, dating from around 1730. This remarkable piece is crafted in high-karat gold, approximately 21K, and set with a dazzling array of 54 table-cut and rose-cut diamonds. These diamonds, foil-backed and mounted in closed settings, display the distinctive gunpowder grey oxidation typical of antique foiled settings, yet they retain their lively sparkle.

The pendant’s design is a testament to masterful craftsmanship, featuring a delicate openwork structure adorned with intricate foliate motifs. The largest diamond, a rose cut, measures 6 x 3 mm, and the overall layout is a classic girandole form with three suspended drops below a central bow-shaped section. The design allowed for captivating movement, catching and reflecting light beautifully in candlelit settings.

Measuring 4.5cm x 3.5cm and weighing 11.55 grams, this pendant is in good condition, with light surface wear and patina to the gold, commensurate with its age. The piece has been preserved in its original form, free from later modifications.

A stunning example of 18th century European jewellery, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of historical jewels.
