    • A remarkable and rare antique locket ring, crafted in Stockholm in 1851. Made from 18K gold, this Swedish ring features a hinged rectangular bezel set with an unusually cut pink spinel, point-faceted to catch the light from all angles.

Beneath the gemstone lies a hidden compartment—just 2mm deep—originally designed to hold sentimental mementos such as a perfumed cloth, a lock of hair, or a handwritten note. Today, it can be used for anything from solid perfume to the tiniest emergency stash.

The shoulders are ornately decorated with foliate motifs in high relief, lending a sculptural quality to the design. The ring is stamped inside the band with a clear set of Swedish hallmarks: the triple crowns for Sweden, the city mark for Stockholm, the ‘V4’ date code for 1851, and an ‘18K’ fineness mark.

The bezel measures approximately 9 x 10mm, and the ring weighs 2.26 grams. It is a UK size K½ (US size 5.5).

In excellent condition for its age, with light signs of wear. The hinge opens and closes securely, and the compartment remains clean and usable.

An extraordinary example of mid-19th-century Scandinavian craftsmanship, combining utility, sentiment, and design flair in one wearable piece.
