A playful vintage French-market articulated fish pendant, probably dating to the 1970s, crafted in 18K gold. The body is made from a series of moving gold sections, allowing the fish to flex naturally when worn, much like a small swimming form. The surface is machine engraved with scale-like detail, giving texture and light to the articulated body.The fish holds a natural cultured pearl in its mouth, with small red spinel eyes adding a discreet flash of colour. It is a good size for wear as a pendant, measuring approximately 6cm long by 1.7cm wide at the widest point, and weighing 4.16g. It is marked with the French owl import hallmark, alongside 750 / 18K gold marks.Condition is very good, with light surface wear consistent with age. The articulated links move freely, the pearl is secure, and the spinel eyes remain well set. A charming and well-made vintage 18K gold articulated fish pendant, with excellent movement and strong character. Please note: chain not included.
