A unique early 19th century gold memorial ring set with with purple garnets and a glazed central panel, surrounded by a halo of seed pearls. The ring is crafted in 15K gold.
What is particularly unusual about this late Georgian era ring is the spike burst design on the front which makes this mourning ring seemingly quite gothic in style. The bifurcated shoulders are decorated with floral motifs terminating in a reeded shank.
UK size R, US size 8.5
The ring is in good overall condition, there is a seed pearl missing and the glazed compartment is cloudy from water damage.
The ring weighs 2 grams. It is unmarked but tests as 15K gold. The cluster face measures 15mm x 12mm, and the band measures 2mm at the back.
