    • A charming vintage 9K gold flying fish pendant, fully hallmarked for London, 1969.

The fish is modelled in flight, with broad outstretched fins and engraved detailing across the wings and body. Although small in scale, the three-dimensional form gives it plenty of character and movement.

The flying fish has a particularly strong association with Barbados, long known as the “Land of the Flying Fish”. It remains an important national symbol, appearing throughout Barbadian culture and on the country’s coinage, while flying fish and cou-cou is traditionally regarded as the national dish.

A playful piece of late-1960s gold jewellery, equally effective worn alone or layered with other charms.

      Details:
      9K gold
      London, 1969
      Weight: 1.44g
      Measurements: 20 x 18mm
      Very good vintage condition
