    • A superb example of early 20th century French jewellery, this Belle Époque ring dating to around 1910 beautifully embodies the refinement of jewels from this period.

Crafted in platinum and 18K yellow gold, the ring features an intricate openwork design set with diamonds surrounding a central cultured pearl. The diamonds are mounted in millegrain platinum settings and left open-backed to allow light to pass through the stones. In total they weigh approximately 2 carats and are cushion cut, arranged along the cardinal directions around the central pearl. The elongated openwork plaque spreads gracefully across the finger, its delicate lattice structure typical of the light, airy designs favoured during the Belle Époque. The geometric symmetry and precise detailing reflect the transitional moment between the flowing naturalism of Art Nouveau and the emerging structured elegance that would later define Art Deco.

Though unmarked, the craftsmanship and design strongly suggest it was made in Paris by a highly skilled jeweller of the period.

      UK size L 1/2, US size 6.

      Weight 5.26 grams.

The central plaque measures approximately 3cm by 1.5cm.

Unmarked, tests as platinum and 18K gold.

The ring remains in excellent condition despite its significant age.

A striking and elegant survivor of the Belle Époque; equally suited as an antique engagement ring or a distinctive statement dress ring.
