    • This Dutch antique necklace, made around 1900 by ‘W.A. Holthuis’, a jeweller from Arnhem, features a delicate foliate pendant set with rose-cut diamonds in foiled silver settings. Designed to catch and reflect candlelight, the diamonds are set in a traditional close-backed mounting.

The pendant is crafted in silver with a 14K yellow gold backing, typical of continental European jewellery from the period. It is suspended from a fine .800 silver chain with a particularly unusual and practical feature—a small adjustable fastener that allows the length to be modified between 32cm (shortest) and 42cm (longest).

The central rose-cut diamond measures 6mm in diameter and spreads to approximately 0.5 carats. It is set within a foiled silver collet, enhancing its brilliance. The total drop length of the pendant is 2.5cm.

The necklace weighs 3.07 grams and is housed in its original orange velvet box from W.A. Holthuis Juwelier, further adding to its provenance. The reverse of the pendant is stamped with later Dutch marks.

Condition: Very good, with all diamonds securely set and the original chain intact.
