A French cluster ring of about 1860: a soft, milky banded agate within a halo of rose cut diamonds.The smooth agate is a creamy brown with a darker brown band to one side, and is set with an open back. Around it, rose cut diamonds sit in closed-back, cut-down silver settings, their triangular facets made to glimmer by candlelight.Beneath the head runs a pierced gallery of crescents, and each shoulder carries an applied fleur-de-lys.
