An elegant French Art Deco bypass bangle, dating to around 1920, crafted in 18K yellow gold with platinum-topped diamond settings. The bangle takes the form of a slim open hoop, its two ends crossing past one another and finishing in stylised arrowhead or spearhead terminals. This pointed terminal design sits very naturally within the Art Deco period, when jewellery often drew on sharp geometry, symmetry and streamlined forms. The arrow-like ends give the piece a sense of movement, as the bangle wraps around the wrist. Each terminal is set with rose-cut diamonds in fine millegrain platinum settings, with calibre-cut sapphires placed at the base of each arrowhead, adding a crisp blue contrast against the yellow gold. The hoop itself is rounded and measures approximately 3mm thick, giving the bangle a refined but substantial feel. The open bypass construction gives it a slight natural flexibility, allowing it to be slipped securely onto the wrist while retaining its shape. The bangle is crafted in 18K yellow gold, and bears French control marks. The sapphires measure approximately 4 × 2 × 1mm each. The internal diameter is approximately 6.7 × 6.1cm / 2.64 × 2.40 inches, and the total weight is 15.72 grams.Condition is very good, with light surface wear to the gold and platinum consistent with age.A refined French Art Deco bypass bangle, combining yellow gold, platinum, rose-cut diamonds and calibre sapphires in a distinctive arrowhead design.
