A superb antique ruby and diamond ring made in Georgian era England, circa 1820. The centre of this ‘target’ shaped cluster ring is set with a 1ct cushion cut deep red ‘pigeon’s blood’ ruby, probably Burmese origin. Neatly prong-set, it is encircled by a halo of old cut diamonds in crimpled collet silver settings which is further surrounded halo of smaller cushion cut rubies. The ring is typical of early 19th century Georgian design with its intricate repoussé-work shoulders, decorated with roses and floral motifs which continue down the tapering shank.

UK ring size P 1/2, US size 7.75

The ring weighs 6.37 grams, it is unmarked but tests as 21K gold. The bezel measures 26mm x 14mm.

The ring remains in exceptional condition considering it being 200 years old; all the stones are still set very securely, with no obvious damage to the ring. It is without doubt, one of the most impressive Georgian cluster rings we have come across.
