A fantastic antique 18K gold garland necklace featuring a sapphire and baroque pearls. This necklace is an excellent example of French Belle Époque craftsmanship, circa 1900.

The front of the necklace is decorated with relief engraved openwork panels, each intricately worked with roses and various other flowers, crafted in slightly different colours of gold for added contrast. In between each of the panels are hanging baroque pearl drop pendants.

The central panel is the largest and features a millegrain set synthetic sapphire of fantastic clarity and a velvety royal blue hue.

The necklace is crafted in 18K gold throughout and measures a total length of 41cm or 16“. It weighs 7.73 grams and the necklace is stamped with a French ‘tête d’aigle’ (eagle head) hallmark to indicate Paris 18K gold. The front panel section measures 10cm across.

Conditions: Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. All items are to be returned in their original condition and packaging. Buyer damaged items and items bought on layaway are ineligible for returns. Items over £2500 can be returned for store credit only.
