This unusual antique gold and sapphire ring  dates from the early 20th century, circa 1900.

The ring is crafted in 14K gold and set with a 4ct sapphire cabochon, dark royal blue in colour. It rests in a beautiful openwork gold mount, decorated with scrolled motifs.

The ring is in good condition, it weighs 5.22 grams, and is unmarked but tests as 14K gold.

The Edwardian era of jewellery, named after King Edward VII, spanned from 1901 to 1910, although stylistically it is often extended through to 1914.
