A superb Georgian-era gold bracelet dating to the early 19th century, crafted in England between circa 1800 and 1820. The bracelet is formed from a series of finely made octagonal bloodstone panels, each cabochon bezel-set in rich 15K gold and linked to create a fluid, elegant line around the wrist. The stones are subtly graduated, with slightly larger panels at the centre, a quiet refinement typical of Georgian jewellery. The bloodstones are of excellent quality; a deep, velvety green ground enlivened by vivid red flecking. In the Georgian period, bloodstone was highly prized, associated with courage, protection, and vitality, and often worn as a talismanic stone. Its use here, combined with the restrained gold settings, reflects both the taste and symbolism favoured at the turn of the 19th century. The bracelet fastens with a traditional tongue clasp, which is firm and secure, and the overall condition is excellent, with the stones well preserved and the gold retaining a pleasing, warm tone. A particularly wearable and well-proportioned example of Georgian hardstone jewellery, equally striking worn alone or layered with other antique pieces. The bracelet weighs 14.6g and measures approximately 17cm in length. Each bloodstone panel averages around 16 × 13mm. The piece is unmarked, as expected for the period, and tests as 15K gold throughout.
