A lovely antique half hoop ring, crafted in France during the Georgian period, circa early 19th century. Set with five rose-cut diamonds, the stones are mounted in silver crimped collet settings, a style typical of the time. The triangular facets of the rose cuts were designed to glisten beautifully by candlelight—ideal for the intimate, low-lit settings of the period.
Most rings of this era feature closed-back settings with silver foil behind the stones to enhance their brilliance.
