    • A striking antique Flemish cross pendant dating to the late 18th or early 19th century, originating from the Dutch-speaking regions of Belgium where this distinctive cross form developed. Executed in 18K gold with silver-topped settings, the pendant is set throughout with twenty-seven large rose cut diamonds arranged across the arms and centre.

The diamonds are traditionally set in silver over reflective foil, a historic technique used to enhance brilliance before modern cutting and lighting. Over time, some of the silver foil beneath has naturally mellowed, lending the diamonds a soft, warm tonality that is characteristic of many rose cut diamond jewels of this period. The diamonds are notably generous in scale, giving the cross excellent presence when worn.

The form is elegant and balanced, with gently flared terminals and a pleasing weight in the hand. The reverse is plain and honest, showing the construction and age consistent with an early 19th-century devotional jewel. Unmarked, as is typical for pieces of this age, but tested as solid 18K gold with silver diamond settings.

      Weight: 8.69g.
      Measurements: approximately 5.5 x 4cm.

A rare and authentic example of an early Flemish diamond cross; rich in history, craftsmanship, and quiet devotional symbolism.
