    • A finely crafted Victorian Albert chain necklace, made in Birmingham around 1900 by the maker HHS. Formed from solid 9K rose-tinted gold, the chain is in very good condition, with every single link struck with British hallmark stamps, including the ‘9 • 375’ fineness marks, the Birmingham assay mark, and the maker’s initials. The dog clips and T-bar are also hallmarked.

Originally designed to secure a gentleman’s pocket watch, Albert chains have since become timeless staples of antique jewellery collecting, prized today as bold yet versatile necklaces. This example retains its original T-bar and twin dog clip fasteners, both typical of late 19th-century manufacture.

It has a satisfying weight of 27 grams and measures 45 cm (17.7 inches), sitting neatly at the collarbone. The solid gold T-bar measures 3.5 cm across.

      Condition
Very good antique condition, with all links intact and securely joined. A beautifully hallmarked and substantial Albert chain, ideal for layering or wearing solo as a distinctive statement piece.
