    • This charming antique gold stirrup ring dates from the late 19th century, circa 1880, and was probably made in Austria or Germany.

The band is set with a facetted red glass stone, imitating a ruby.  It is bezel set in an open-backed rosy gold mount, crafted in 9K gold.

The elongated shape of this ring is known as a ’stirrup ring’, as it mimics the shape of a horse stirrup. These types of rings first became popular in England and France during the Medieval period, and once again became fashionable across Europe in the Victorian era.

UK ring size M 1/2, US size 6.5

The ring weighs 1.28g, the glass stone measures 5mm x 4mm.
