This exceptional Victorian faience scarab ring, dating from around 1870, is a captivating example of the Egyptian Revival style that swept through 19th-century Europe. Inspired by ancient Egyptian scarab amulets, this piece reflects the era’s fascination with archaeological discoveries, particularly those of Egypt’s tombs and temples.At its centre is a hand-carved faience scarab, measuring 14mm x 9mm, with a distinctive faded turquoise glaze, typical of antique Egyptian faience. The scarab is mounted in a solid 21K gold swivel bezel, allowing it to rotate fully.
