    • An exceptional and highly unusual Belle Époque ring, made in France around 1890. At the centre sits a rectangular 1ct step-cut natural emerald, with a rich, saturated green tone and natural inclusions consistent with Colombian material, very likely from the Muzo region. The colour is vivid and luminous.

Flanking the emerald are two remarkably large rose-cut diamonds, each 7mm in diameter. Their scale is highly unusual for a multi-stone ring of this period. The rose cuts are exceptionally well preserved, bright and lively, with excellent clarity and only a single minor inclusion visible in each stone. Additional smaller rose-cut diamonds are bezel-set in gold around the emerald, further enhancing the architectural presence of the design.

The ring is crafted in 18K gold with platinum elements, confirmed by the French owl hallmark for gold and the French mask mark for platinum. It weighs 4.3g and is a UK size I½; US size 4.5.

A rare and striking example of French Belle Époque design, notable for its scale and originality; a genuinely uncommon ring that stands apart from conventional emerald and diamond settings of the era.
