A charming and particularly small French signet ring in 18K gold, engraved with the coat of arms of the Haas family. The shield depicts a hare, echoed again in the crest, a witty and personal heraldic device. Beneath the shield runs a banner inscribed with the family name.Made in France around 1930, the ring follows a classic signet form with a squared bezel and tapering shoulders. The intaglio is engraved in negative, allowing the crest to be pressed into wax for sealing documents. Its small size suggests it might have been created either for a lady or for a child within the family. The shield measures 9 mm across, and the ring is finely crafted in 18K gold, bearing the French eagle head hallmark along with a lozenge maker’s mark. Weighing 4.2 grams, it fits a UK size D ½ (US size 2).
