    • A handsome antique emerald and diamond ring made in Germany, circa 1910.

The ring is set with a deep green step-cut emerald weighing approximately 2 carats, flanked by two bright round brilliant cut diamonds of around 0.25ct each, totalling approximately 0.50ct. All three stones are bezel set and open-backed, allowing light to pass through the stones.

Crafted in 18K gold, the ring has a pleasingly solid construction with a substantial band. The stones are sunk cleanly into the gold, creating the smooth, architectural profile characteristic of German and Austrian three-stone rings of the early 20th century.

The emerald displays a rich dark green colour, complemented by the bright white brilliance of the diamonds.

Stamped with a WM maker’s mark and 750 for 18K gold.

UK size T, US size 9.5.
      Weight 8.15 grams.

The head measures approximately 9mm across, with the band tapering to around 2mm at the back.

A finely made example of early 20th century continental jewellery, with a sculptural presence and a wonderfully smooth, tactile finish on the hand.
