    • A gorgeous Georgian emerald and diamond trilogy ring dating to the late 18th century, circa 1780. Crafted in rosy-hued gold testing approximately 14K, the ring is centred with a rectangular table cut emerald in a raised crimped collet setting with a characteristic pie crust edge, flanked by rose cut diamonds in silver boxed bezels.

The ring displays all the hallmarks of high-quality Georgian gem setting. The emerald retains its original hand-applied foil backing; a technique used throughout the 18th century to intensify colour and create a soft inner luminosity under candlelight. The shoulders are delicately forked, terminating in subtle C-scroll details, while the underside of the head shows a concave gallery engraved with radiating lines, demonstrating careful hand craftsmanship throughout.

Such mixed-metal construction was typical of the Georgian period, when silver settings were favoured for diamonds to maximise brightness, while gold formed the body of the ring. The design is consistent with late 18th century Western European jewellery, possibly French in origin.

      The emerald measures approximately 5 x 4 x 2mm. Ring size M (UK) / 6.25 (US). Weight: 2.5 grams.

Condition is good overall for its age, with light wear and evidence of past resizing to the reverse of the band. The stones remain secure and the ring is fully wearable today. A particularly elegant Georgian gemstone ring that would make a distinctive antique engagement ring.
